MY NEW BOOK JUST PUBLISHED

THIS BOOK IS CONCERNED WITH A CRITICAL ISSUE WHICH IS CARING FOR THE VERY ELDERLY. TODAY, WE LIVE LONGER THAN EVER THANKS TO THE INCREASE IN LIFE EXPECTANCY DUE TO MEDICAL PROGRESS AND INNOVATIONS. ALL THESE PEOPLES BORN AFTER THE WWII ARE GOING TO BE RETIRED AND EVERY ONE NOW KNOWS THAT AFTER 80 YEARS OLD, SENIORS NEED CARE FOR THEIR DAILY LIFE. THIS MATERIAL USING THE SYMBOLIC INTERACTIONIST PERSPECTIVE HELPS TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITY OF LIFE AT VERY OLD AGE. MOREOVER, THE BOOK SHOWS HOW THE ELDER PEOPLES RECREATE A MEANINGFUL SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT WITHIN THE CONSTELLATION OF VARIOUS ACTORS (FAMILY, PROFESSIONALS, FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS...) THAT INTERVENE IN THE CARING PROCESS.

Attempting a Dynamic Sociology of Extreme Old Age in Western Societies

I have gathered plenty information from a field work that lasted two entire years. This work has counted for my major research training from which my Ph.D dissertation has stemed back to. The method I did utilize is qualitative and the research design Exploratory and descriptive. The Grounded theory (a method created by Anselm Strauss and Barney Glaser both key figures of the School of Chicago) has been the appealing motive to choosing this method. Click here to see the overall theoretical and methodological approach I have designed. The English explanation is followed by an in-depth analysis of a concrete situation of domiciliary care written in French.

Budding Thoughts: Renewing African's Interpretation Paradigms thru the 21st Century

This article in French is in progress. It tackles the issue of Social Progress in Africa a continent of astonishing paradox: A Potentially Very Rich Continent however the Incredibly Poorest Continent in the World!! The English version will be completed soon. I am translating the entire manuscript paragraph per paragraph. So, any critical thinking is very welcome.

This is an imperfect composition and translation since some edits need to be brought up before the final version is completed. Click here to see a PowerPoint Presentation I have done to a Conference held @ University of San Francisco (USF) at the occasion of commemorating the 50th anniversary of independence of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
